Goodbye, June!
Every Ass Morning In June: a daily ongoing stream of cawnsciousness (Day 30)
Harry Hill posting on Substack for 30 days straight was a social experiment conducted by Harvard University and it has now concluded. Thank you to everyone who participated. Please get a voucher for a free Crimsonberry muffin on your way out.
LOL no but seriously wow. What an experiment this was! I really thought I was going to Toni Morrison my way through this, waking up every morning at the crack of dawn and writing before my children woke up. Yeah. Right. You can lead a horse to Substack but you can’t always make it write.
The fact that I ended up posting at 11:59 PM for a majority of this month isn’t surprising as I’ve waited till the very last second to do many things in my life. In middle school, I’d be at the kitchen table in the dark, surrounded by construction paper, finishing a book report the night before it was due. In high school, I’d put my pen down the night before, promising myself I’d wake up early and do it in the morning, only to end up hastily scribbling the answers in the hallway before walking into class.
I sometimes have those moments where I look around at my life and wonder how I managed to do it all. I’ll get to wherever I’m going and turn around, looking for the footsteps that lead me there, only to find a bunch of kicked up dust. Oh god. Do I need an anecdote here? I’ll do it in the morning! I'll wake up early! Pinky prom! Ok, fine. I'll do it now.
Life isn’t biology homework and I can’t scribble my way through it.
Or can I?

Keep writing please
You can lead a horse to Substack.. this makes me want to commit to something for 30 days now
